Perched on a cliff overlooking Tokyo Bay, NOT A HOTEL TOKYO – THE NIGO HOUSE is a one-of-a-kind architectural work directed by world-renowned creator NIGO®. His worldview and aesthetic sensibility are crystallized within a structure that resonates with the surrounding landscape, creating a bold yet harmonious presence.
The space brings together architecture, culture, and art—featuring a dramatic KAWS sculpture, a tea room with sweeping sea views, and meticulously curated vintage furniture. Custom furnishings, including a table designed to match pieces by Jean Prouvé, reflect an obsessive attention to detail—what NIGO® calls “the 2% of playfulness.” These layers of thought unite past and future, form and function, in a singular expression.
While blending with the natural scenery, the house radiates unmistakable character—a “space of philosophy” where NIGO®’s ideas take physical form.

Kei Shiho
Architect
Set on a dramatic site of ravines and cliffs just outside central Tokyo, THE NIGO HOUSE is surrounded by quiet nature and breathtaking views of Tokyo Bay. The building is positioned at the edge of a cliff so that every room enjoys a panoramic ocean view. However, the approach to the house is intentionally designed to block the sea from sight.
As guests move through the sloping landscape and enter the architecture, they pass through a tunnel-like path where the view is gradually revealed. When the full ocean vista finally appears, the contrast delivers a powerful, cinematic moment.
This carefully choreographed spatial experience heightens the feeling of immersion into NIGO®’s unique worldview, transforming the stay into something deeply personal and unforgettable.
